The 40mm Munitions are designed to deny access into/out of an area to individuals, move individuals through an area, and suppress individuals. This technology has the potential to support multiple missions including:

• Force protection
• Access control points
• Patrols
• Crowd control

These are M203 grenade launched rounds that deliver blunt trauma effects to individuals. Multiple Services currently employ these rounds. Different types of 40mm munitions are available such as sponge rounds, foam rubber baton rounds, and crowd dispersal cartridges.
