455th Air Expeditionary Wing
Feb. 16, 2014 | 1:51
Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors, and even a few Romanian Soldiers help make Fire Donuts at Camp Phoenix, Afghanistan. Fire Donuts are given to the Afghan community to help heat their homes. They are made from a mix of shredded paper, sawdust, and water. The process shows Service members mixing the ingredients together, putting it in molds, pressing the molds, and then setting them out to dry. They made roughly 600 this day with about 100 volunteers.
