℠2015 - Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Low Intensity Conflict, Michael Lumpkin, testified before the House Armed Services Committee on the effects of social media on strategic planning. Secretary Lumpkin told committee members the rise of ISIL and their use of social media for recruitment and propaganda highlight some of the challenges new media presents to defense leaders.
