Suggested Tag: The Warhorse winners will represent their brigade at the US Army Central Best Warrior of the year 2014 competition.

NARR- the “Warhorse” Brigade held its best Noncommissioned officer and Soldier of the Year competition at Camp Buehring, Kuwait. The three-day long event assessed the military competency of its six contestants.
Soundbite: SGT Kitchen – It’s pretty competitive. In no way was it set up for anybody to win or anything like that. It was just, you go out there and perform at the best of your abilities and you’ll win the competition based on if you got the experience or if you don’t; just as long as you gave it your best. That’s all I did.
NARR- The competition consisted of an Army physical fitness test, a 50-question test, a two-page essay, situational training exercises, and qualifying with an M-4 rifle. It tested the competitors resolve as much as their knowledge.
Soundbite: SPC Laskey – I wanted to compete in this competition in order to challenge myself as an individual and as a Soldier. I also wanted to make my family proud back home and also make my leadership proud because they put a lot of time and effort into bettering me as a Soldier and an individual.
NARR- Sergeant Kitchen and Specialist Laskey won their categories of the competition. Army Sergeant Matt Waymire, Second Armored Brigade Combat Team, Fourth Infantry Division, Camp Buehring, Kuwait.
