The US Navy commissioned the newest ship in the fleet. The USS Thomas Hudner (DDG116) was commissioned in Boston, Massachusetts. DDG 116 is named after Thomas Hudner, a medal of honor recipient, for his actions as a Naval Aviator in the battle for the Chosin Reservoir during the Korean War. The ship was brought to life by sponsors Georgia Hudner and Barbara Miller.
