The 14th Missile Defense Battery and Kyotango City International Association hosted its annual Halloween event at Kyotango City, Japan Oct. 30.

“We are so pleased to host the Halloween event with the community though it was downsized while we have had unprecedented problems of the novel Corona virus spread”, said Maj. Robert W. Elliott, 14th MDB commander. “We have been looking forward to the event and worked very hard to prepare it.”

Approximately 50 kids, their parents, and volunteers from the 14th MDB, Japan Air Self-Defense Force’s 35th Aircraft Control and Watch Squadron, Kyotango City, Kinki-Chubu Defense Bureau and the community took part in the event which included a Haunted House, Zombie Blaster, Mummy Bowling and Trick or Treating.

“I’m glad that we were able to host the event for the first time in two years, taking preventive measures such as the limitation of access numbers, measuring body temperature and hand sanitizing at each station,” said Ms. Tomoko Asada, acting director, Kyotango City International Association. “We will be looking forward to future events like Christmas and the Easter with KCS in order to realize multicultural coexistence.”
