38th Sustainment Brigade
June 25, 2018 | 2:48
Lt. Col. Douglas Downs, 38th Sustainment Brigade S-3 and Nautical Horizon Task Force commander, explains Nautical Horizon 2018 and the 38th’s role in the exercise. Nautical Horizon 2018 is a two-stage exercise that conducts an Army Watercraft Brigade Inspection Reconnaissance Exercise (BIREP) on Army Prepositioned Site Five (APS-5) vessels in conjunction with a Logistics Over-The-Shore (LOTS) exercise to train and validate DoD’s ability to deploy, receive, and stage equipment and sustainment in support of U.S. Central Command and Army Central’s exercise requirements in a scenario which prevents normal pier-side activity.
