Spc. Joseph Ryan, an infantryman assigned to Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 69th Infantry Regiment and Sgt. 1st Class Martin Cozens, an infantryman assigned to Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion, 108th Infantry Regiment, New York Army National Guard (NYARNG), emphasize what motivates them to advance through the challenges of the State-level NYARNG Best Warrior Competition at Camp Smith and West Point, N.Y., Mar. 28-29, 2019. The Best Warrior Competition, held Mar. 27-31, 2019, is an annual event in which junior enlisted Soldiers and non-commissioned officers from various New York Army National Guard units compete in several events intended to test their military skills and knowledge, as well as their physical fitness and endurance.
