U.S. Marine Corps cannoneers with Battalion Landing Team 2/1, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, execute fire missions with their M777 towed 155mm howitzer during a combined joint live-fire exercise at Camp Growl, Queensland, Australia, July 22, 2023, during Talisman Sabre 23. Exercises such as Talisman Sabre offer a uniquely complex and challenging multinational environment for our forces to hone their skills. TS 23 is the largest bilateral military exercise between Australia and the United States advancing a free and open Indo-Pacific by strengthening relationships and interoperability among key allies and enhancing our collective capabilities to respond to a wide array of potential security concerns.
