Marine Patrol Volunteer Conservation Officer Program helps save the turtles

The 36th Civil Engineering Squadron along with the University of Guam Sea Grant manage the Marine Patrol Volunteer Conservation Officer Program on Andersen Air Force Base, Guam. The program is open to service members and civilians of all ranks and ages and allows individuals to assist with the tracking and protecting of endangered sea turtles that nest on Andersen AFB. The Andersen AFB Sea Turtle Conservation Project is funded by Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) in compliance with the Joint Region Marianas (JRM) Integrated Natural Resources Management Plan (INMRP). All research conducted under this project is covered by Endangered Species Act (ESA) Permit ES2195A.
