The Department of Defense Non-Lethal Weapons Program has non-lethal capabilities that are:

• Currently available through the acquisition process;
• In various phases of development; and
• Being researched by the Department of Defense Non-Lethal Weapons Program.

The Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Directorate, on behalf of the Commandant of the Marine Corps, who serves as the Executive Agent for the Department of Defense Non-Lethal Weapons Program, leads the Department of Defense in the identification, evaluation, recommendation and development of non-lethal weapons to enable their employment across the range of military operations.

The Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Program, including its member Services, has identified several specific capability requirements that non-lethal weapons can address. These requirements include both counter-personnel and counter-materiel tasks.

The Directorate also posts business opportunities for science and technology development and for demonstrations of next-generation non-lethal weapons.

The Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Program Fiscal Year 2015 Non-Lethal Weapon Technologies Broad Area Announcement (BAA) is available on the Business Opportunities webpage, under the Expired Solicitations section. Please note this ONR-hosted BAA has expired. Therefore, we cannot continue to accept BAA white papers or proposals based on this specific BAA. However, it is recommended that industry, government laboratories, and academia interested in presenting ideas and concepts to the JNLWP use this BAA as a reference document. The BAA best defines our current and future innovative non-lethal weapon system performance specifications.
